Privacy Policy — Gourmz

Last updated: June 27, 2026

1. Introduction

Gourmz ("the app," "we," "our," or "us") is a personal recipe, meal-planning, pantry, and shopping-list app, published by Just Vibez LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

We collect only what we need to run the app and keep your content in sync across your devices. We do not sell your personal data. Your use of Gourmz is also governed by our Terms of Service.

2. Information We Collect

To use Gourmz you create an account, and your content is saved to your account so it follows you across devices. Here is what we collect and where it lives:

Account data

  • Your email address and authentication credentials, handled by Supabase Auth. Your password is managed by the authentication provider and is never stored by us in plaintext.

Your content (stored in our cloud database, tied to your account)

  • Recipes — titles, descriptions, ingredients, steps, prep and cook times, servings, tags, ratings, and notes
  • Pantry items, shopping lists, meal plans, and recurring meal schedules
  • Cooking history logs

Recipe photos

  • Photos you add to recipes are stored in a private Supabase Storage bucket, scoped to your own folder, and served to you through short-lived signed URLs. They are not publicly accessible.

Synced settings

  • So your preferences follow you across devices, we store: notification preferences, reminder time, time format, appearance preferences (theme, font size, bold text, high contrast, haptics), custom ingredients, and meal-time presets.

Stored only on your device

  • Your login session token, so you stay signed in. No other personal data is kept solely on your device.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and secure your account and keep you signed in
  • To store and sync your recipes, photos, pantry, shopping lists, meal plans, history, and settings across your devices
  • To deliver the local prep reminders you schedule
  • To manage your "Gourmz Pro" subscription
  • To show ads and, with your consent, personalize them
  • To diagnose crashes and improve the app's reliability

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your recipes, photos, or other content for advertising or profiling.

4. Device Permissions

Gourmz asks for the following permissions only when you choose to use the related feature:

  • Camera & Photo Library — to add photos to your recipes. We access them only when you choose to add a photo.
  • Notifications — to deliver the meal-prep reminders you schedule. Reminders are scheduled on your device by the operating system; we do not use a server push service. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.

5. Where Data Is Stored & Security

Your account, content, and synced settings are stored in our cloud backend powered by Supabase (a Postgres database and file storage). Photos are kept in a private storage bucket scoped to your account.

We protect your data with industry-standard safeguards: all data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS, and database access is restricted per user through row-level security, so you can only read and write your own data.

6. Third-Party Services

Gourmz relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy. Each has access only to the data needed to perform its function:

7. Crash & Diagnostic Reporting

To diagnose crashes and improve stability, Gourmz uses Sentry, a third-party error-reporting service. When the app hits an error, we send a diagnostic report describing the error. Personal data — including your user id, device name, and server name — is stripped before the report is sent, so these reports contain technical diagnostic information only and are not used to identify or track you. Sentry processes this data on our behalf; see Sentry's privacy policy.

8. Advertising & Tracking Identifiers

Gourmz shows in-app banner ads through Google AdMob. To deliver and measure ads, AdMob may use device and advertising identifiers (such as the IDFA on iOS or the Advertising ID on Android), your IP address, approximate (coarse) location derived from your IP, and general device and usage information.

iOS — App Tracking Transparency. On iOS, the app uses Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt to ask permission before using identifiers that track you across other companies' apps and websites. If you decline, the app works normally — you will simply see less personalized ads.

Android & EEA / UK — Consent. Where required (including the EEA and UK under the GDPR), the app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent prompt so you can choose whether to allow personalized ads. If you decline, you will see non-personalized ads instead. You can change your choice at any time in the app's privacy settings.

9. Your Rights & Choices

You can access and edit most of your data right inside the app. You also have the right to access, correct, export, and delete your personal data. To make a request you cannot complete in-app — including data export or account deletion — reach us through our contact page.

GDPR (EEA / UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the app), to comply with legal obligations, and based on your consent (for example, personalized ads). You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

CCPA / CPRA (California)

  • You may request to know what personal information we collect and how it is used — described in Section 2 above
  • You may request correction or deletion of your personal information
  • We do not sell your personal data
  • You will not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights

10. Data Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. You can edit or delete your content in the app at any time. Deleting a recipe also removes its photo and cascades to its meal-plan and recurrence entries; cooking history is intentionally preserved so your records stay intact.

When you delete your account, your account and associated data are removed from our systems. You can request account deletion through our contact page.

11. Children's Privacy

Gourmz is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

12. International Transfers

Your data is stored and processed on Supabase infrastructure located in [Supabase hosting region]. If you use Gourmz from outside that region, your information may be transferred to and processed there. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for international transfers.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page will always reflect when it was last revised. Continued use of Gourmz after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.

14. Contact
